Why should I buy a Golden Ticket? What privileges are granted to Golden Ticket holders?
A limited number of Golden Tickets will be available for sale. These elite ticket holders will be given the highest priority when selecting 3 daily distillery events; 3 nightcap events; and Higher Proof EXPO sessions as well as VIP benefits at KBA opening and closing events; and the first opportunity to purchase tickets to the limited Private Barrel Selections. Each Golden Ticket holder will receive priority booking assistance from a personal Kentucky Bourbon Affair concierge who will help you craft your customized itinerary complete with transportation. These special guests also will receive some cool Bourbon swag to help complete their trip, along with a few other surprises.
Can I purchase tickets a la carte?
Yes, individual tickets go on sale after sales of Golden Tickets have closed and Golden Ticket holders have made their event selections. There will be a limited number of tickets to individual events and tours, so tickets will be available while supplies last. Transportation from the host hotel, the Omni in downtown Louisville, is provided to all events, and is required for some. Be sure to check individual event descriptions and confirmations for details.
Are you mailing me a ticket?
No. Recipients will receive a confirmation e-ticket and your name will be placed on the event list for admission. SquadUP does provide a printed ticket option, but these are not required for events. However, you must bring verifiable proof of identity (driver's license) and your e-ticket to the distillery event.
When will tickets go on sale for 2018?
Tickets go on sale for the Kentucky Bourbon Affair when all distillery events are in place and confirmed. Be sure to monitor our social media channels (Facebook and Twitter) and sign up at kybourbonaffairtickets.com to receive additional email notifications.
Do you have to be 21 to participate?
Yes. You must be 21 years or older to participate in the Kentucky Bourbon Affair. Age will be confirmed at check-in, so please bring verifiable identification (like a driver's license).
Is transportation provided?
Transportation is provided to and from most events from the Omni in downtown Louisville. If you choose to drive yourself, take a cab, or use a ride-sharing service, you are welcome to do so. Some events do require you to ride with us, so double-check your event descriptions.
Where should I stay?
The new Omni Louisville is the official Host Hotel of the 2018 Kentucky Bourbon Affair. The KBA has secured a special rate for our guests of $179 per night. Please see the Omni block of info on the homepage for special rates, or click here to book.
To make your reservation by phone, call 1-800-THE-OMNI (843-6664) and reference the 2018 Kentucky Bourbon Affair.
Can I get media credentials?
Many KBA events are so exclusive, that media credentials will be issued by invitation only. If you are a credentialed member of the media, please contact the KDA by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org to submit your name and information for consideration.
What is the cancellation policy?
Golden Tickets are non-refundable. Please note any personalized specialty items will reflect the name of the original ticket holder only, unless otherwise specified, and will not be reissued with a transfer. After Golden Ticket sales, each event will have a limited number of tickets available. It will be difficult to exchange tickets for another event if you change your mind. We'll do our best to accommodate you, but please understand that it's a long shot. Individual Tickets will be refundable until June 1, 2018.
Are tickets transferable?
Yes. Any ticket transfers must be communicated to the KDA. Please note that for Golden Ticket holders, any personalized specialty items will reflect the name of the original GT holder and will not be reissued with a transfer.
What should I wear?
Be sure to check your individual event confirmations for attire recommendations, paying special attention to events that take place within the distilleries themselves as those often require closed-toe shoes. And for those events that take place outdoors, keep in mind that June weather in Kentucky can change drastically. Be flexible!
Does the KBA offer any volunteer opportunities?
Yes! But you must be over 21 to volunteer for the KBA and Higher Proof EXPO and be prequalified. The Kentucky Bourbon Affair is the signature event of the Kentucky Distillers’ Association and our guests’ positive experience with our member distilleries and the State of Kentucky is of utmost priority. Email email@example.com to find out how you can help.
