Why should I buy a Golden Ticket? What privileges are granted to Golden Ticket holders?
A limited number of Golden Tickets will be available for sale. These elite ticket holders will be given the highest priority when selecting 4 daily distillery events; 3 nightcap events; as well as VIP benefits at KBA opening and closing events; and the first opportunity to purchase tickets to the limited Private Barrel Selections. These special guests also will receive some cool Bourbon swag to help complete their trip, along with a few other surprises.
Can I purchase tickets a la carte?
Yes, individual tickets go on sale after sales of Golden Tickets have closed and Golden Ticket holders have made their event selections. There will be a limited number of tickets to individual events and tours, so tickets will be available while supplies last. Transportation from the host hotel, the Downtown Louisville Marriott, is provided to all events, and is required for some. Be sure to check individual event descriptions and confirmations for details.
Are you mailing me a ticket?
No. Recipients will receive a confirmation e-ticket and your name will be placed on the event list for admission. SquadUP does provide a printed ticket option, and digital tickets are available through your account on the SquadUP app, but these are not required for events. However, you must bring verifiable proof of identity (photo id) to the distillery event. If you do not have a ticket and your name is not on the guest list, you will not be granted access. This applies to guests as well. If you are purchasing tickets for someone else, guest names must be provided to the KBA by May 21!
When will tickets go on sale for 2019?
The schedule of events and descriptions will be posted on this website on January 31. Golden Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, February 12. Individual event ticket sales open to the general public on Thursday, February 14. Be sure to monitor our social media channels (Facebook and Twitter) for any changes to this schedule, and sign up at kybourbonaffairtickets.com to receive additional email notifications.
Do you have to be 21 to participate?
Yes. You must be 21 years or older to participate in the Kentucky Bourbon Affair. Age will be confirmed at check-in, so please bring verifiable identification (like a driver's license).
Is transportation provided?
Transportation is provided to and from most events from the host hotel, the Downtown Louisville Marriott. If you choose to drive yourself, take a cab, or use a ride-sharing service, you are welcome to do so. Some events do require you to ride with us, so double-check your event descriptions!
Where should I stay?
The Marriott in Downtown Louisville is the official Host Hotel of the 2019 Kentucky Bourbon Affair. All KBA-provided transportation will depart from the Marriott and a registration/information desk will be available there as well. The KBA has secured a special rate for our guests of $179 per night. Please see the Marriott block of info on the homepage for special rates, or click here to book.
A secondary hotel is being offered this year, just a few blocks from the Marriott. A small block of rooms is available at The Hilton Garden Inn for $149 per night. Book here or call (502) 584-5175 and reference the Kentucky Bourbon Affair.
Can I get media credentials?
Many KBA events are so exclusive, that media credentials will be issued by invitation only. If you are a credentialed member of the media, please contact the KDA by emailing email@example.com to submit your name and information for consideration. If your request does not pass through proper channels and receive approval, and your name is not on an event attendee list, you will not be granted access.
What is the cancellation policy?
Because they are so limited, Golden Tickets are non-refundable. Please note any personalized specialty items will reflect the name of the original ticket holder only, unless otherwise specified, and will not be reissued with a transfer. After Golden Ticket sales, each event will have a limited number of tickets available. It will be difficult to exchange tickets for another event if you change your mind. We'll do our best to accommodate you, but please understand that it's a long shot.
Individual Tickets will not be refundable after May 21, 2019.
Are tickets transferable?
Yes. Any ticket transfers must be communicated to the KDA. Please note that for Golden Ticket holders, any personalized specialty items will reflect the name of the original GT holder and will not be reissued with a transfer. All ticket transfers must take place, with names provided, by May 21, 2019.
What should I wear?
Be sure to check your individual event confirmations for attire recommendations, paying special attention to events that take place within the distilleries themselves as those often require closed-toe shoes. And for those events that take place outdoors, keep in mind that June weather in Kentucky can change drastically. Be flexible!
Does the KBA offer any volunteer opportunities?
Yes! But you must be over 21 to volunteer for the KBA and be prequalified. The Kentucky Bourbon Affair is the signature event of the Kentucky Distillers’ Association and our guests’ positive experience with our member distilleries and the State of Kentucky is of utmost priority. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how you can help.
