When will tickets go on sale?
The Kentucky Bourbon Affair™ events have been cancelled for 2021. Click here to read more.
Do you have to be 21 to participate?
Yes. You must be 21 years or older to participate in the Kentucky Bourbon Affair. Age will be confirmed at check-in, so please bring verifiable identification (like a driver's license).
Are you mailing me a ticket?
No. Recipients will receive a confirmation e-ticket and your name will be placed on the event list for admission. Our online ticketing platform, SquadUP, does provide a printed ticket option, and digital tickets are available through your account on the SquadUP app, but these are not required for events. However, you must bring verifiable proof of identity (photo id) to the distillery event. If you do not have a ticket and your name is not on the guest list, you will not be granted access. This applies to guests as well. If you are purchasing tickets for someone else, guest names must be provided to the KBA by August 31!
Is transportation provided?
Transportation is included to and from most events from the host hotel in downtown Louisville. If you choose to drive yourself, take a cab, or use a ride-sharing service, you are welcome to do so. However, some events require you to ride with us, so double-check your event descriptions! The event hosts make their own decisions regarding whether or not using our buses to an event is mandatory. No exceptions will be made, so be sure to check those descriptions and locations carefully before purchasing tickets.
Where should I stay?
The new Hotel Distil in downtown Louisville is the official Host Hotel of the 2020 Kentucky Bourbon Affair. All KBA-provided transportation will depart from Hotel Distil and a registration/information desk will be available there as well. The KBA has secured a special rate for our guests of $169 per night. A link to the KBA hotel room block will be made available on the Louisville page of this website when the ticket schedule is known. September will be a very busy month in Kentucky and our hotel will probably sell out. Don’t wait too long to finalize your travel plans!
Can I get media credentials?
Many KBA events are so exclusive, that media credentials will be issued by invitation only. If you are a credentialed member of the media, please contact the KDA by emailing email@example.com to submit your name and information for consideration. If your request does not pass through proper channels and receive approval, and your name is not on an event attendee list, you will not be granted access.
What is the cancellation policy?
KBA events are developed and executed by the distilleries and event hosts themselves and they receive the revenue from ticket sales to their events. Individual Tickets will not be refundable after August 31, 2020.
Are tickets transferable?
Yes. Any ticket transfers must be communicated to the KDA but can also be managed by the buyer in the SquadUP app. Please have all ticket transfers completed, with names provided, by August 31, 2020. Some events include personalized gifts and hosts will need accurate guest information
What should I wear?
Be sure to check your individual event confirmations for attire recommendations, paying special attention to events that take place within the distilleries themselves as those often require closed-toe shoes. And for those events that take place outdoors, keep in mind that September weather in Kentucky can vary drastically. It can be cold one day and hot and humid the next. Be flexible!
Does the KBA offer any volunteer opportunities?
Yes! But you must be over 21 to volunteer for the KBA, be prequalified and receive training from a member of the Kentucky Distillers’ Association staff. The Kentucky Bourbon Affair is the signature event of the Kentucky Distillers’ Association and our guests’ positive experience with our member distilleries and the State of Kentucky is of utmost priority. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how you can help.
